Description
  • The company is a recognised specialist for funiculars and reversible ropeways. Steurer works intensively with the Bregenz Festival and develops special lifts for the stage construction, the company has e. g. produced the eye of TOSCA, from which James Bond enters in his movie Quantum of Solace.

  • To put it simply, ropeways can be divided into two groups today: firstly are modular and industrially produced continuously circulating ropeways, and secondly are individually designed and manufactured reversible aerial ropeways, funiculars and special ropeways where standardisation is almost impossible. Steurer is specialised in the second group.
Highlights
  • Well known reference projects include cable cars at Dachstein, Arlberg, Arosa, Seefeld and many destinations more.
  • Even though ropeway technology represents the main line of business, Steurer has always been involved in special-purpose machine engineering.
  • Steurer is not an industrial company, but a medium-sized family business.
  • The important Swiss market is served with its own local subsidiary, which also manages the non-German speaking countries.
