Lorünser Austria develops and produces complex components for high voltage power lines and makes sure that the power lines are functioning securly and free of interferences. The product range includes connectors, clamps and conductor for outdoor switchgear lines from 132 up to 1000 kilovolt AC or DC. The company is active in more than 40 countries and supplies and installs clamps, conductors, insulators and other equipment for international mega projects on site.
  • Lorünser operates an own test labour for current strenghts of up to 9.000 amperes.
  • The biggest hydroelectric plant in Central Africa, an offshore wind farm at the island of Rügen and the high voltage DC transfer from UK to France are among others realised with products and support of Lorünser Austria. With other firms such as Siemens, ABB or Alstom, the company creates the energy infrastructure needed.
  • The company cooperates with illwerke vkw, Vorarlbergs energy provider, for many years.
  • Since 1985 Lorünser is part of international KNILL Group.
  • Together with the external partner, the company Austro Drones Lorünser tests the inspection of substations with drones. This service will be offered to the operators of substations. The drones fly over the substations and are equipped with a thermal camera. This is an easy and quick way to detect if there are any problems with “hot spots” at the substation. If for example a part is detected, that has a higher surface temperature than the tolerance value allows, this component will be further inspected on the ground.
  • Whether high voltage equipment is installed at sea level or over 4000 metres above sea level, can have a dramatic effect on the construction and design of the shielding. Interfering connections and corona effect can lead to undesirable results. The engineers at Lorünser supply the right products for the construction and usage.
